Here’s how the Quote of the Day works:

“Silent Quotes”: Quotes appear in your Today Widgets each day and are displayed by swiping downwards from the top of your screen to open the Notification Center. You only see quotes when you want and tapping them takes you to the quote location in the play. Turn Silent Quotes on or off by opening the Notification Center, click Edit, and add or remove the Shakespeare app.

“Notification Quotes”: Quotes appear as notifications at the time you choose in the app settings. These notifications are “pushed” to your device so you need to have an internet connection for this to work. Actual delivery time may vary by a few minutes depending on your network. Turn Notification Quotes off in the Shakespeare App settings. If you change your settings, it may take up to 24 hours for the change to take effect.
