Frequently Asked Question
To turn off alerts or the reminder to rate/review the app on the App Store on iOS7 or iOS8, perform the following steps:
- On your device, go to Settings > Notification Center.
- Scroll down the list of apps until you see the Shakespeare or Shakespeare Pro app. Tap the icon to view the app notification settings.
- Select None for the Alert Style. Slide all the other options to the off position (to the left).
These settings may not be visible if you don't have a newer version of the app. Please update to the latest version. If you have an older version, when the reminder appears, just press the "No, stop bugging me!" button. In later versions, there is a button in the app Settings to disable app review reminders.
You can also go the app settings to customize this:
- Open the device Settings (not the Settings within the app).
- Select the Shakespeare app (make sure it's the right one if you have more than one option).
- Select Allow Notifications to turn them on.
- Select the options defining how you want to receive Quote of the Day.
It may take up to 24 hours for any changes to take effect.
The latest versions of the app have a toggle in the app settings to disable the app requesting a review. Open the app, tap settings, and turn off Disable app review reminders.
